Topics 2: Was selected one of the “Distinguished Contractors 2005”by the Sapporo Environmental Agency

The Sapporo Environmental Agency annually selects and rewards excellent contractors for gardening landscape construction. This year, for the 24th Awards, the Selection Committee—Sapporo Green Promotion Division recognized five construction projects undertaken by nine landscaping companies from among the 93 landscape gardening construction projects ordered by the Environmental Agency.

The selection was conducted by the Selection Committee, based on comprehensive standards encompassing construction results and content, an evaluation of the safety patrol, the degree of difficulty of the construction, the condition of the finished construction site and how the trees and grass are taking root.

The government subsidy project to create greenery in front of Shinkotoni station, which was completed by the Landscaping Department of our Environmental Enhancement and Landscaping Division, was recognized—a record 16th time that we have received the award as a gardening landscape contractor. The project was to create a green area encompassing the station plaza adjacent to the station building. Aligning symbolic trees, planting groundcover and spreading multipurpose grass field, we created a green area to offer comfort and enjoyment to station users and neighboring residents. Station users say that the new environment is easy to use and scenic.

Our construction work emphasized reductions of the environmental burden and industrial waste, and recycling, based on the Sapporo Environmental Management System, while installing an open-to-the-public exhibition room that exhibits nursery trees and an explanation panel regarding pavement.

We are committed to continuing to execute environmental enhancement and landscaping construction, maintenance and management that can provide safety and comfort, thereby pursuing a business appreciated by customers and users.
