| Developing Businesses Aimed at Supporting a Conservation-oriented Agricultural Industry |
Preventing the deterioration of Japan's limited arable land, reducing the burden that the agricultural industry places on the environment, and providing safe food are major issues that conservation-oriented agricultural industry can address. Snow Brand Seed's Business development centers on conservation-oriented agriculture. We have established strong record in this field, and the social significance of our contributions is growing as times change. Our business development centers on three divisions: Dairy and Stockbreeding, Upland Farming and Horticulture, and Environmental Enhancement and Landscaping divisions. These divisions are connected by our focus on an environmentally friendly agricultural industry. The dairy and livestock and food crop farming industries that we serve practice environmentally friendly, cyclical agriculture. In other words, they are conservation-oriented agricultural industries. It is becoming increasingly important to take an array of environmental factors into consideration. These include organic farming, the protection of ecosystems, and the reduction of such global warming gases as the methane produced by cattle. We believe that tackling these issues is our social mission, and each of our divisions is playing a role in addressing them. Based on our accumulated know-how and advanced R&D, we are comprehensively supporting a conservation-oriented agricultural industry. |
